JC Virus (Human polyomavirus 2)

Cat no. YSL-qP-EC-JCV-100

A complete qPCR kit for the detection of JC Virus (Human polyomavirus 2)

JC virus (Human Polyomavirus 2) is a common virus that infects the majority of the population asymptomatically. In immunocompromised individuals, however, it can cause progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML), a rare but often fatal brain disease. Early detection of JC virus is crucial, especially in transplant patients and those with autoimmune diseases, to prevent the development of PML.

YouSeq's qPCR kit to detect JC virus allows for sensitive and specific detection of the virus, enabling early diagnosis and monitoring of patients at risk for PML. Timely detection can lead to quicker intervention and better disease management, ultimately improving patient outcomes and reducing healthcare costs associated with treating advanced stages of PML.
